Meet Coach Lauren

If you’ve been around Nexus Fitness at all, you have probably seen or taken a class from Lauren. Lauren is a CrossFit coach but says she hasn’t always liked CrossFit!

Lauren started CrossFit after having her third child. Prior to, she only ran outside for exercise and realized she didn’t enjoy it as much as she thought she should be enjoying a workout. Her husband was going to start CrossFit, so she decided to give it a shot.

It wasn’t love-at-first-WOD for Lauren. “I couldn’t do anything, didn’t know what any movement was, and actually didn’t like it at first!” Lauren says of her first experience with CrossFit. But, she stuck with it and within a month, realized she loved it and has never looked back!

Lauren’s favorite movements are power cleans, handstand push-ups, muscle-ups, and any chipper style workout.

When you attend one of Lauren’s classes, you can expect a very encouraging and fun coaching style. She’s going to push you to try new things and get you out of your comfort zone. She makes it a priority to make sure her athletes are using the correct form so all of her athletes stay healthy!

You can also expect to hear upbeat hip-hop music as you work out and probably Lauren singing along! She also loves old school 80s and 90s music.

Lauren’s favorite thing about coaching is watching someone figure out a movement, get a first pull-up or a PR.

When Lauren is not working out or coaching, she loves to spend time with her husband and four kids. She loves to spend her summers being at the beach or swimming!
